Nikki & Ryan – Centennial Park Wedding
The newly opened Superintendents Residence made for the most perfect location for Nikki & Ryan’s autumn Centennial Park Wedding. Nikki and Ryan are just two peas in a pod. They had planned a wedding that combines all of the things that they love. Funnily enough, a lot of the things they enjoy are things that I love too. From food to music to travel to food.
Nikki gave so much thought to the styling and layout for the wedding and it shows throughout the photos. From the dress to the jewellery, flowers, menus, decorations even the wishing well terrarium that Ryan made. Everything looked simply impeccable. Ryan who is a chef, and loves shooting film had a great connection with my style of photography. Nikki and Ryan also really connected with my approach wedding days. I love to have a good time, be involved and blend in like a guest. Our meetings, engagement shoot and discussions before the wedding just felt like time spent with old friends. By the time the day rolled around it felt like I was just documenting two of my friends celebrating a momentous day in their lives.
The weather really turned it on for mid March. The light was perfect for the locations I picked and what I wanted to capture. We chatted the afternoon away and captured some beautiful photos before heading back to the party. Nikki and Ryan had been greatly looking forward to the food by Aria Catering. The food was definitely one of the many highlights for both of them and the guests. It was only trumped by the speeches and great stories told by all. I very much appreciate the friendship we have made and look forward to many catch ups and devouring of burgers alike in the future.
Centennial Park Wedding
Located just a stones thrown from the city, Centennial Park is very popular for weddings. There are numerous venues within Centennial Park that caters for celebrations of all sizes. I have photographed within the park for many years and never get tired of finding new locations and spots to enjoy. There are a lot of varied locations which are private and easy to access. The light is also dazzling in the late afternoon and golden hour within the park. As far as locations close to the city of Sydney go, it’s hard to look past Centennial Park.
As an added note, the very creative Nikki has launched her own wedding signage and design business since the wedding. You can find her wonderful work at Nikki Design Co.
