Sara & Jason – Watsons Bay Engagement

A Watsons Bay Engagement session. I love that the clients I shoot come from far and wide… and here we have New Jersey meets New England. I was first contacted by Sara a couple of months ago about some lovely portraits of herself and her boyfriend Jason, to turn into some Christmas Cards to send back home (the USA) for the holiday period. They are both studying/working here and wanted to give a bit of insight for those back at home at just how EPIC Australia is! Of course I was happy to oblige, and it much to my excitement that shortly before the date we set to shoot, Jason popped the question. Christmas Cards suddenly turned into a bit of an Engagement shoot as well.

I asked Sara & Jason about where they had explored in Sydney, and one place they had yet to visit was Watsons Bay and South Head. Having not shot there myself for a little while, I thought it would be the perfect place to show them a new (and beautiful) part of Sydney and capture some nice photos. As it turns out, I make a pretty good tour guide and my trivial knowledge actually has some use!

It just so happened that we were greeted with quite a windy afternoon, but also some very crazy light due to all of the bush fires that week. I love the way these two interact, it took very little prompting from me and I love the photos.

Watsons Bay Engagement

Engagement sessions are a lot of fun, a great way to get used to being in front of the camera and it is hard to beat spending an afternoon outdoors. We simply choose a spot, either with a hidden meaning for you or one that suits the look/style you are after and wander around chatting and shooting.
