Why I Recommend Somerley House (As A Wedding Photographer)

For me setting the scene for the wedding in photographs is important as part of the story. A beautiful venue and location goes a long way in being able to set the scene. In many ways it effortlessly creates the best back drop for the story to unfold in photographs. I have only ever heard rave reviews from those that decided on Somerley House for their wedding day. The proof is in the experience and testimonials of these people.

The venue provides an intimate and special place for you to enjoy with your family and friends. Being able to enjoy your time with those closest to you in turn creates many opportunities for wonderful candid and natural photos.

How To Get The Most Out Of Your Wedding

  • It is always best to do a site visit when picking your wedding venue. You can only view the property by booking a viewing, so make sure you plan in advance.
  • Every season is beautiful down in the southern highlands. To me personally autumn is extra special for a wedding day with the amazing colours on show.
  • It can often be cool even in the summer time. When planning your outfits make sure you have something warmer to wear over the top (especially for the bridal party).
  • The best time of the day for wedding photos is as the sun starts to set. When planning your wedding day and the run sheet, consider building in the time to get photos in the best light of the day.
  • Whilst there are lots of accommodation options in the area, things book out fast. Make sure you give yourself and your guests enough time to get accommodation organised when you are considering your wedding date for your Somerley House wedding.
