Xiao & Vera – An Adventurous Glencoe Engagement
This beautiful Glencoe Engagement with Xiao & Vera all happened at the beginning of our 2018 European adventure. I have known Xiao since school, and he and Vera are currently calling London home. We have been lucky to see them both in all of our trips over in the past 3 years. In late 2018 they tied the knot in beautiful Tuscany with very close family. In June 2018 we road tripped Scotland for 10 days together and had the best of times. It was whilst planning this trip that I suggested we capture this Glencoe engagement whilst visiting the Scottish highlands.
The idea for a roadtrip in Scotland came from a mutual love of adventure, exploring the world and cars (ok maybe cars for Xiao and I). It’s also such a great way to enjoy a solid amount of time with friends. I would love to share our whole road trip in time. Lets just say we enjoyed a lot of good whisky, winding roads, rolling hills, beautiful hikes, zip lining, distilleries and home cooked meals. The only thing we didnt enjoy were the midges!
The Scottish highlands are something to experience. We stayed in a beautiful B&B in Ballachulish which was the perfect base for exploring the highlands. With a few notes from friends, we hiked The Lost Valley and explored Glencoe and Glen Etive. For the Glencoe engagement we started at the old Ballachulish slate quarry, before capturing photos around Glencoe and Glen Etive. We got to experience rolling hills at the base of the Three Sisters and the dramatic peak of Buachaille Etive Mòr. As the weather and light changed, we headed down Glen Etive, recreating the scene from Skyfall and shooting in a field of Lupins. It means so much to capture such beautiful photographs, especially when they are of such wonderful friends.
Glencoe Engagement in the Scottish Highlands
I absolutely loved shooting in Scotland, especially this Glencoe engagement with Xiao & Vera. On this trip I also captured Kym & James and their beautiful Iceland Destination Wedding. In fact Destination Weddings, Elopements and Engagements are something I hold dear to myself. If you have an inkling to marry, elope or get engaged anywhere in the world; then get in touch as I would love to be there to document it for you.
